Where can I get COON cheese?

In all major supermarket chains nationally.

 
Does COON cheese contain Lactose or Gluten.
A great source of calcium for people who cannot tolerate lactose COON cheese contains virtually no lactose and can be enjoyed by people with lactose intolerance. This is because during the cheese making process the lactose, is removed with the whey portion, leaving the curds that are used to make cheese. Any lactose left within the curd is then used by the cultures in the maturing process.

Most cheese contain as little as 0.03 grams of lactose in a serve (1 serve = 35 grams of Cheese).

COON cheese does not contain gluten.

Usage & storage
COON cheese is best stored at 4 degrees C in an airtight bag or container. For best freshness and flavour enjoyment COON cheese should be consumed within two weeks of opening.
 
Nutrition
COON cheese is a highly concentrated source of many of the essential vitamins and minerals found in milk, including protein, calcium, vitamin A, vitamin B12, riboflavin, zinc and magnesium. This is because it takes approximately 10 litres of milk to make 1 kilogram of cheese.

COON Resealable Packs.
What's changing?

COON 250g and 500g blocks.

 
Will I still have to use cling film with the COON resealable pack. I worry that the cheese will dry out without it.
The cheese is protected by the pack. After use, squeeze as much air out as you can and seal the bag. Place it back in the fridge. If sealed tight it will not dry out but it is best consumed within 14 days.
 
On shelf the new pack looks a little bit looser than the old pack. Does it have air in it? Won’t this make the cheese
dry out.
It is not air in the pack. The new packing machine used is state of the art and allows COON to use a "modified" atmosphere to keep the cheese moist and fresh. This is much like what is used in the current COON cheese shred packs that are not vacuum sealed. The pack cannot be completely "sucked" in like a traditional cheese pack as there is potential that a completely vacuum sealed pack will disfigure the seal rendering it useless.
 
I noticed that the reseal feature is not currently on the
750g and 1kg COON block packs? Why is that?

The reseal technology is not currently available to apply to bigger packs. At this stage we have our eyes out for any new technology that will allow us to apply this innovation to big packs.

Has the cheese changed?

There has been no change to the cheese in our COON packs. It still has the great COON cheese taste.

 
Has the price changed?

COON has maintained the price of the cheese packaging despite the extra cost of the zip and the pack.

 
How easy are the new packs to open?
The COON resealable packs are easy to open. The instructions are on the back.
 
The zip looks different to the traditional zips. Is it a new type of zip?

The zip is supplied by Zip Pak. It is the latest technology in zips and the double rail helps solve the issue of locating the zip easily for sealing. The double rail zip is bigger and can therefore be handled by young and old hands more reliably and has an audible click when sealed. It has also been tested for use over 1,000 times.
